पुतलीको घर - Putali ko Ghar
10 May

"Putali ko Ghar" (Home of the Butterfly) is a story about the real-life experience of a young woman, Pushpa Basnet, who meets a nine-month-old baby girl in a Kathmandu jail, an event that changes her life forever. The book poignantly narrates her early life, giving us a look of who she was, how she went on to do work that affected many people's lives, and how she was named a CNN Hero in 2012.

Pushpa Basnet grew up in a decent family but disliked school. She was only to fail her SLC exam from her school. She retook the test and passed the second time. She was free for a few months after her test. She works at the Bal mandir in her free time to make the best of it. Her surroundings encourage her to do something for the children.

She is accepted to St. Xavier's after SLC, but she is expelled for one year due to Pushpa Basnet's studies. Students at St. Xavier's were required to serve in different fields while studying, and she spent time in jail, which changed her life.

Then her fight continues. The pain she endured. The challenge of establishing an organization, the struggle after it has been established, and so on have all touched my spirit, reading this book.

Her work was gradually analyzed, and several people aided her. However, her suffering, such as the pain of shifting places and the pain of slipping to the problem of land, did not go anywhere, and she continued her work. As a result, she was dubbed a CNN hero and a CNN superhero.

It tells the story of a young woman's failure and the course her spirit has taken to overcome it. And the story is one of transformation from darkness to light, of love and compassion. The book addresses the question, "Who is Pushpa Basnet?" and "Why is she recognized as CNN Hero and, later, CNN Super Hero?" What was her life like before she became famous? How did she become the symbol of liberation for those who were imprisoned without making a mistake? How did she overcome her own grief when attempting to mitigate the grief of others, and how did she comprehend the essence of life?

The optimism and faith in life become louder as the pages of the book spin. As a consequence, the reader's heart spontaneously transmits the message of enthusiasm. Surrounded by grief, this self-centered book would offer any reader a glimpse of modern life's salvation benefits. That is the book's power.
